Hydranencephaly is a consequence of the absence of development of the cerebral hemispheres, which are then replaced by pockets of cerebral spinal fluid. The diagnosis is often made antenatally with the help of ultrasound. We report a case of a 2-month-old infant whose antenatal diagnosis was made and whose pregnancy was carried to term. The child was born with an unexplored microcrania before discharge from the maternity hospital. The diagnosis of hydranencephaly was made during his hospitalization for sepsis. We report this case in order to make known the disease and to raise the issue of voluntary termination of pregnancy.
