Perfluoroalkylés et développement pubertaire des garçons et des filles : analyse de données de la cohorte de naissance danoise Volume 19, issue 1, January-February 2020

Author

This news is based on the following article: Ernst A, Brix N, Braskhøj Lauridsen LL, et al. Exposure to perfluoroalkyl substances during fetal life and pubertal development in boys and girls from the Danish National Birth Cohort. EHP 2019 ; 127(1) : 17004. doi : 10.1289/EHP3567

The Danish national birth cohort created in 1996 to follow up more than 100,000 children until puberty provides data on the effects of perfluorinated compounds (surfactants known to be endocrine disruptors found in everyday domestic or industrial products) on pubertal development. The results published in this article show some non-monotonic effects (no dose-response relation) that differ between boys and girls.
