Balancing the need to protect the fœtus from mercury exposure and that of ensuring that it gets the nutrients essential to its development, guidelines on fish consumption during pregnancy are complex. The results of this study confirm their relevance and encourage pregnant women not to exclude fish entirely from their diet.
