Positional plagiocephaly is an increasingly common problem, particularly since the campaign to prevent sudden infant death syndrome. However, effective prevention measures had been the subject of recommendations. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the information parents were given on these measures.

From a questionnaire sent to the parents of the Haute Garonne through day nurseries from January to March 2015, only 33% of the parents declared that they had been informed of the preventive measures. The positioning advice at bedtime is incompletely delivered and the measures proposed in periods of awakening are merely advertised. The relevance of the information which is delivered varies according to the healthcare professionals. The parents state that their main informant is the pediatrician followed closely by the osteopath. The general practitioner is quoted last, after the midwife. The general practitioners, who have leading roles, must find back their first position in this prevention.
