This news is based on the following article: Laouli N, Pilorget C, Cyr D, et al. Occupational exposure to organic solvents and risk of male breast cancer: a European multicenter case-control study. Scand J Environ Health 2018 ; 44 : 310-22. doi : 10.5271/sjweh.3717
The observation of an excess number of cases of breast cancer in men working as house painters and automobile mechanics led this European team to explore solvent exposure as a potential explanation and to find associations with three solvent products: trichloroethylene and, more uncertainly, benzene and ethylene glycol.
