Symptomatic upper extremity deep vein thrombosis (DVT) after pacemaker implantation is a rare complication. Several contributing factors are identified. The diagnosis is based on clinical arguments, but confirmation is giving by ultrasound even venography remains the gold standard. We report a case of DVT after implantation of double chamber pacemaker in which the diagnosis was made by repeat venous ultrasound doppler of the upper limb.
