The postural tachycardia syndrome is a disorder of the autonomic nervous system characterized by an excessive increase of heart rate with the supine position with no decrease of blood pressure. Cardiac and non cardiac symptoms can severely impair quality of life. Multifaceted treatment usually improves symptoms and quality of life.
