This article is a proposed translation of the guidelines published recently following the Baveno VII expert conference on portal hypertension, which took place in October 2021. The concept of these guidelines is intended to provide the most possible personalized care based on the available scientific data. Nine panels with nearly 70 experts made proposals, which were then validated by all the experts, and rated according to the GRADE system. These proposals should guide our practice in the daily care of patients with chronic liver disease for the next 5 years.
