After having stated epidemiologic data from surveys performed in different medical departments (emergency rooms, specialised centres for epileptic patients), the authors describe the types of traumatic complications according to the clinical presentation of epileptic seizures. They state risks for death and long term risks of traumatic complications. They suggest possible means for limiting these risks.
