Maltreatment is unfortunately under diagnosed in France. In 2014, the number of minors in care in child protection was estimated at 290,000 over the whole of France, ie a rate of 19.8 ‰ [1]. In its article 43, the Code of ethics [2] stipulates that “the physician must be the defender of the child when he/she considers that the interest of his/her health is misunderstood or badly preserved by entourage”. It is therefore important for a primary care professional to identify this situation.
