This patient's account stigmatizes a normative view and moral judgement of the medical profession as regards contraception. ‘Doctors are good at speaking, but they don’t know how to listen’ Nanni Moretti points out in his film ‘caro diaro’ or ‘a personal diary 1994’ in which he tells us about his own therapeutic itinerary when diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Could reporting patients’ factual experiences in scientific journals actually compensate for this failure? As knowledge increases, controversies are likely to infect related fields and generate groundless transpositions: researchers, GPs and users integrate changing paradigms, each at their own pace and in their own way.
