This news is based on the following article: Ha M, Hwang S, Kang S, Park N, Chang B, Kim Y. Geographical correlations between indoor radon concentration and risks of lung cancer, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and leukemia during 1999-2008 in Korea. Int J Environ Res Public Health 2017; 14: 344. doi: 10.3390/ijerph14040344
This ecological study in the Republic of Korea finds that indoor radon concentrations affect the incidence of lung cancer and highlights a correlation with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (in women only). These findings need confirmation and further exploration. No association with leukemia was observed.
