This study of people seeking in vitro fertilization sheds new light on the potential effects of banal environmental exposure to phthalates on reproduction. Urinary metabolite levels of di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) appear to be inversely associated with the number of oocytes produced by ovarian stimulation, and the pregnancy and live-birth rates.
