This news is based on the following article: Kachuri L, Villeneuve PJ, Parent ME, Johnson KC, the Canadian Cancer Registries Epidemiology Research Group and Harris SA. Workplace exposure to diesel and gasoline engine exhausts and the risk of colorectal cancer in Canadian men. Environ Health 2016; 15: 4.doi: 10.1186/s12940-016-0088-1
Adding to the limited knowledge of the subject, this case-control study suggests an association between high-level exposure to diesel engine fumes and the risk of rectal cancer. This association merits further study.
