Exposition à la pollution de l’air et hémoglobine glyquée dans une cohorte âgée aux États-Unis Volume 17, issue 1, January-February 2018

This news is based on the following article: Honda T, Pun VC, Manjourides J, Suh H. Associations between long-term exposure to air pollution, glycosylated hemoglobin and diabetes. Int J Hyg Environ Health 2017; 220: 1124-32. doi: 10.1016/j.ijheh.2017.06.004

Addressing a gap in knowledge, this study of a sample of older people in the USA (57-85 years) observed an association between glycosylated hemoglobin levels and exposure to fine particulates and nitrogen dioxide in those with diabetes. Nitrogen dioxide had less effect on people without diabetes.
