Événements climatiques extrêmes et campylobactérioses dans l’État du Maryland Volume 16, issue 3, May-June 2017

* This news is based on the following article: Soneja S, Jiang C, Upperman CR, et al. Extreme precipitation events and increased risk of campylobacteriosis in Maryland, USA. Environ Res 2016; 149: 216-21 doi: 10.1016/j.envres.2016.05.021

Filling in gaps in our knowledge of the subject, this Maryland (USA) study provides a first estimation of the impact of extreme heat and precipitation events on the risk of Campylobacter infections. Two factors specific to this area affect this risk and illustrate the need to consider all the elements linked to the local context to effectively protect people's health.
