Since October 30, 1997, the antiretroviral drugs officialy recommanded for the use in France have the benefit of the double dispensation : chemistry or hospital pharmacy (circular n° 97/166, March 1st, 1997). We carried out in February 1997 an opinion poll with the seropositive outpatients traited in our teaching hospital to evaluate their expectations. One year later, we carried out another opinion poll to compare the results. Initially, 45 % of the seropositive outpatients included in the study were favourable to the double dispensation. The results of the second study showed that 41 % of the seropositive outpatients remained favourable to his maintenance. Seropositive outpatients come to the hospital to take their treatments to be in confidence, whereas others prefer to take them in chemistry by convenance (proximity and schedules). The question of the maintenance of the double dispensation is not yet solved in France by the Health Authorities. It seems that in Nantes 30 % of the seropositive outpatients take actually their antiretroviral drugs in chemistry.
