Sterilization by plasma (like Sterrad®) joins the classic procedures used in hospital sterilization. Steam sterilization has remained the method of reference for thermoresistant materials. Notice of experts remain shared as for the interest of sterilization by plasma. One from critical points concerns the economic aspect of the process. Two hospitals of the Assistance publique des Hôpitaux de Paris, groupe hospitalier Lariboisière-Fernand Widal-Saint-Lazare and hôpital Saint-Antoine have the process Sterrad® since September 1993. A comparison to the cost of a sterilization by ethylene oxide is envisaged, as well as thresholds to leave of which one from methods becomes costlier than the other. A model is purposed to validate this comparison.
