Protease inhibitors can disturb glycemia. We report the case of a 39 years old man drug user, HIV and VHC positive, treated for two months with an antiretroviral quadruple oral therapy drug user with stavudine, lamivudine, ritonavir and saquinavir. He was admitted to the clinical haematology department for a chemotherapy cure to treat a Hodgkin’s disease but the day following his admission, he went in a stage II hyperosmolar coma. Protease inhibitors have been incriminated with the corticosteroids. These treatments have been stopped, which allowed the patient to recover clear consciousness.
