The treatment of autism has been a controversial topic for approximately four decades. The first formal description of autism by Leo Kanner in the 1940s focused on the evolution of a fairly homogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder and did not mention the possibility of any treatment. Currently, it is a question of subscribing to a type of care that shifts between the behavioral approach and that of a cognitive type. However, other treatment proposals are being considered, and we will analyze two of them.
