This news is based on the following article: Birks L, Guxens M, Papadopoulou E, et al. Maternal cell phone use during pregnancy and child behavioral problems in five birth cohorts. Environ Int 2017; 104: 122-31. doi: 10.1016/j.envint.2017.03.024

The relation between mobile phone use by pregnant women and behavioral problems in their children aged 5-7 years was examined in a vast population sample from five birth cohorts (four European and one Korean). Data on mobile phone use was collected prospectively during pregnancy in three of the cohorts, and retrospectively in the other two. The study shows an association between frequency of use and risk of hyperactivity/inattention type disorders, although further verification and clarification are needed.
