Epileptic Disorders
MENUMessage from the editor Volume 6, issue 1, March 2004
Auteur(s) :Jean Aicardi
Founding Editor-in-Chief
This issue of Epileptic Disorders marks the beginning of
the 6th year of publication of the journal. During our
first five years, the journal has steadily grown, and has received
a unanimous welcome from epileptologists, neurologists and
neuropaediatricians. It now ranks highly among specialized
publications, especially, but not exclusively, in clinical
epileptology, as reflected by its rising impact factor. The flow of
high quality papers has steadily increased, and the CD that
accompanies every issue has become an invaluable tool for
disseminating both video sequences and excellent quality
neuroimaging.
This success is largely due to the hard work of the Boards and of
the ad hoc reviewers, and I wish to thank them for their
dedication and support. I also wish to thank our publisher, Mr.
Gilles Cahn, for his constant efforts, all members of the John
Libbey Eurotext team for their help and understanding, and Brigitte
Tricot for her talented contribution to the Editorial Office of the
journal.
Although I will remain fully active within the editorial team,
after five years as Editor-in-Chief, I think it is time for me to
pass the baton to a younger Editor-in-Chief who can continue to
develop and improve the quality and diffusion of Epileptic
Disorders.
At the last meeting of the Boards in Boston, Alexis Arzimanoglou
accepted to take over this task. Alexis Arzimanoglou is one of the
founding members of the journal, and has been my closest
collaborator, as Associate Editor, over the past five years. He is
fully aware of the aims and the spirit of Epileptic
Disorders and, in addition, over the past years he has gained a
thorough knowledge of the management of the journal. I am sure he
will maintain the tradition of Epileptic Disorders, and
bring to the journal renewed energy and enthusiasm, which will
ensure its continuing success. n
