A 69-year-old woman was referred by her primary care physician with concerns about excessive hair growth on her face during the previous six months (figure 1). She had a history of psoriasis on her scalp and elbows, rosacea, onychomycosis, and basal cell carcinoma on her left upper back. She had quit smoking more than 30 years prior.
