Médecine et chirurgie du pied

Médecine et chirurgie du pied

The journal Médecine et Chirurgie du Pied was launched in 1984 under the impetus of Dr Simon Braun, who was editor-in-chief until 1997. The journal is the official organ of the French Society of Foot Medicine and Surgery.

The French Society of Foot Medicine and Surgery was founded in 1969. Its founder was Professor Paul Galmiche. What makes the SFMCP unique is its multidisciplinary approach and the collaboration between the various specialists interested in the physiology and pathology of the foot, as well as in the treatment of these conditions. The foot is an anatomical region in which no one can claim exclusive expertise. This discipline is practised by orthopaedic and traumatological doctors and surgeons, as well as by numerous medical specialists in rheumatology, re-education, functional rehabilitation, sports medicine, radiology, paediatrics, neurology, angiology, endocrinology, dermatology, diabetology, etc.

This journal is the voice of all those interested in the foot and its pathology, both in France and abroad. The French Society of Foot Medicine and Surgery is a founder member of the EFAS (European Foot and Ankle Society) and a member of the IFFAS (International Federation of Foot and Ankle Societies). This is why articles can be published in either French or English. The journal aims to be a 'showcase' for everything to do with the physiology and pathology of the foot and ankle.
