This article discusses the different stages in the establishment of an early intervention measure for first psychotic episodes in the adult psychiatry division of Vinatier Hospital, in Bron. Its originality lies in the close collaboration between case managers (CM) and sectoral teams. This collaboration occurs at every stage of the care pathway : emergency, full hospitalization, outpatient care, and hospital day care. The term new pathway nurse (NPN) was chosen to refer to the work that case managers do with patients. After describing the measure itself, we discuss future prospects for Vinatier Hospital and the rest of mainland France.
