Various morphological abnormalities can be detected in the temporal pole of patients presenting with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), including mass lesions, scars and malformations which are associated with chronic epilepsy. Moreover, the temporo-polar region is a common site for cavernous angiomas, cortical dysplasias and low-grade neurono-glial tumors.
