A man in his 70s presented with a six-month history of an isolated friable ulcerated mass in the right inguinal region, measuring 3 × 4 cm (figure 1A). He reported a slowly growing subcutaneous nodule, that for the last month became ulcerated and sometimes showed a purulent discharge. The lesion was otherwise asymptomatic.
