Malaria is a mosquito-born disease caused by the protozoan genus Plasmodium. This disease is characterized by a febrile systemic illness with cyclic fevers as the hallmark. Other clinical signs and symptoms include tachycardia, hypotension, headache, backache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain and altered consciousness.
