Psoriasis is an inflammatory and proliferative chronic skin disease with two clearly differentiated lesion characteristics, namely, epidermal hyperproliferation and dermal inflammation. Although the pathogenesis of psoriasis is not well understood, it is hypothesized that the condition is multi-factorial in origin, is influenced by genetic and immunologic factors and is characterized by epidermal and dermal infiltrates caused by activated T lymphocytes, which are, eventually, responsible for the [...]
