Vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease, affecting females in menopausal age. Estimated prevalence is one in 70 women [1], although this is probably underestimated [2]. Environmental factors have been suggested to act on genetically predisposed patients, triggering auto-immune mechanisms [1, 3].
