Lichen planus (LP) and vitiligo are chronic muco-cutaneous diseases which are characterized by an autoimmune epidermotropic inflammation. Both are genetically linked diseases, and each can be induced by environmental triggers, such as mechanical injury (isomorphic response; Koebner phenomenon). The co-existence of vitiligo and LP suggests shared autoimmune processes relevant to their pathogenesis and co-inducibility [1, 3-5].
