Case 1: a 73-year-old Japanese man presented with a three-month history of facial erythema and swelling. He had been treated by steroid ointment, but the symptoms did not improve. Physical examination revealed diffuse erythema and swelling of the face, known as ‘leonine face” (figure 1A). Histopathological findings of the erythema disclosed multiple tiny non-caseating epithelioid cell granulomas, which were typically “naked”, with few surrounding lymphocytes, over the entire dermis layer [...]
