Skin tumors may serve as markers for inheritable disorders and may herald internal malignancy [1]. Cowden disease (CD, MIM #158350) as well as Muir-Torre syndrome, Gardner syndrome, multiple endocrine neoplasia 1 and 2B, tuberous sclerosis and neurofibromatosis 1 and 2 are familial cancer predisposition syndromes, all of which exhibit mostly benign cutaneous tumors indicative of internal malignancies.
