Bisphosphonates are compounds widely used in the treatment of osteoporosis and other bone-absorbing conditions. Despite the appreciable benefits of bisphosphonates, bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) is a significant and unpredictable complication in a subset of patients who receive these drugs [1].
