Answers

(1) There are basically two regions: the laryngeal motor cortex in the primary motor cortex (area 4) and a widely distributed motor network including the medial SMA, anterior cingulate cortex, and motor and premotor regions. There is a predominance in the left hemisphere.

(2) Quantitative voice analysis represents an objective evaluation of ictal and postictal vocalisations and provides information to differentiate between temporal and frontal seizure onsets (Peters et al., 2011; Speck et al., 2018).
