In Japan, bakers occasionally suffer from occupational urticaria, hand eczema, or asthma, however, their frequency has not been thoroughly studied [1, 2]. In this study, we visited 123 bakeries in Japan and investigated the proportion of bakers with occupational allergic diseases. Moreover, we studied the frequency of use of gloves and/or masks among bakers in different Japanese regions.
