A 79-year-old woman presented with a three-month history of erythrocyanosis on her lower extremities (figure 1A) and painful ulcerated lesions (figure 1B). She had no other cutaneous or extracutaneous abnormalities. Doppler ultra-sonography of the lower-extremity showed normal results. Blood tests revealed a platelet level of 560 G/L (normal: 150-400 G/L).
