Kaposi varicelliform eruption (KVE), also called eczema herpeticum, first described by Moritz Kaposi in 1887, refers to a disseminated skin infection due to a virus occurring in a patient with an underlying cutaneous disease. Herpes simplex virus is considered as the main causative agent but Varicella zona virus, small poxvirus or coxsackievirus A16 may be involved [1, 2].
