Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) grows in a type-2 T-helper cell-dominated microenvironment, which is permissive for tumour growth [1]. Immunocryosurgery, the combination of daily imiquimod over five weeks and a relatively mild cryosurgery session at Day 14, is an efficacious, minimally invasive modality for the majority of BCC [2], and this timing of treatment is essential for the efficacy of this approach [3].
