A 36-year-old Caucasian woman sought advice at our department for a bleeding lesion on her right thumb, which had appeared following trauma some weeks before. Her medical history included cholesteatoma. She was not taking any medication. Physical examination revealed a 6-mm red, fleshy, ulcerated, painless papule with a distinct keratinized border, forming a white collarette (figure 1A).
