A 44-year-old Japanese man was referred to our department in 2016 with a 14-year history of multiple facial papules. According to the patient, his farther had similar cutaneous lesions. Physical examination revealed multiple, skin-coloured, 1-2-mm, dome-shaped papules on the face, neck and upper back (figure 1A, B), and multiple papillomatous hyperplastic lesions of the gingiva (figure 1C).
