Cardiac CT allows visualization of coronary artery calcification and its quantification by determining the coronary calcium score, the Agatston score. Coronary calcium score via Agatston score is associated with severity and increased incidence of coronary plaque, and with major ischemic cardiac events. AHA and ESC now recommends the use of calcium score in the population with intermediate cardiovascular risk. It is a powerful marker of cardiovascular risk still underexploited in France.
