Discrimination amongst homeless people can also be seen within community care units, which have been specifically designed to provide a period of medical and social support to homeless patients (LHSS). Racism can develop from within the heart of the community itself but also amongst health care professionals, fuelled by a lack of understanding of the lifestyle of this population. Moreover, homeless people often convey a negative image amongst the French population, which in turn increases their marginalization.
