The development of psychiatric nursing research was boosted by the introduction of PHRIP (Programme hospitalier de recherche infirmière et paramédicale) (Nursing and Paramedical Hospital Research Program), with 100 ongoing and completed projects. Over the last ten years, therefore, this branch of care research has established itself within our discipline. Psychiatric nursing research works on bridging the gap between observed and desired situations, and its applied research aspect is manifested within a variety of validation frameworks. The operativity and transferability of its findings have shown themselves to be determining factors in the dissemination and promotion of a research culture.
