The reform of psychiatry in Belgium initiated since 2010 has placed mobile mental health outreach teams at the heart of the mental health system. The mobile crisis team created in the Brussels context comes out of a tradition of crisis intervention. As such, it presents different affiliations and characteristics: its link to a unit designed to handle crises and psychiatric emergencies; clinical work oriented towards patients characterized by low or no care-seeking; and involuntary treatment. A number of ethical questions arise in light of its operation and its mission of providing care to people who do not want it.
