Holidays, well appreciated by all of us, should be part of the therapeutic goals that we set to our patients with inflammatory bowel disease. However, holidays must be organized at best during a specific consultation. Ideally, the disease should be under control, vaccinations should be updated especially for destinations where certain specific vaccinations (yellow fever) are mandatory that require special precautions in patients treated with immunosuppressive or biotherapy. Special attention must be paid to sun exposure in patients treated with immunosuppressive therapy or biotherapy or after abdominal surgery.
