The surgical excision coupled with hyperthermic intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is an major part of treatment of peritoneal dissemination of colorectal malignancy, giving hope of prolonged survival. This treatment is becoming more codified, the latest results published series highlighting the decline in morbidity and mortality and the interest of using new drugs like oxaliplatin. Future efforts should focus on homogenization and rationalization of the indications.
