This news is based on the following article: Banay RF, James P, Hart JE, et al. Greenness and depression incidence among older women. Environ Health Perspect 2019 ; 127(2) : 27001. doi : 10.1289/EHP1229

This first prospective study in the United States reports an inverse relation between the level of surrounding residential greenness and risk of depression. However, its population is somewhat unusual in that it concerns participants in the Nurses’ Health Study who were in their 70s at the time of inclusion.
