This scoping review of the literature on the effects of early exposure to chemicals identifies significant characteristics, such as focus on the in utero period and neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral outcomes. Although many associations between a given substance and health outcome remain relatively undocumented, the authors believe that others are ready for a comprehensive evaluation of the level of proof.
