Nouvelles perspectives sur les mécanismes de perturbation endocrinienne par les produits chimiques dans les maladies de la thyroïde : la voie épigénétique Volume 20, issue 2, March-April 2021

This news is based on the following article: Pitto L, Gorini F, Bianchi F, Guzzolino E. New insights into mechanisms of endocrine-disrupting chemicals in thyroid diseases: the epigenetic way. Int J Environ Res Public Health 2020 ; 17 : 7787. Doi : 10.3390/ijerph17217787.

The environment is polluted by substances likely to modify thyroid hormone secretions, which play a key role in regulating the metabolism, ossification, myocardial contractility, and in the growth and differentiation of neurons. They also affect fetal growth. Authors of this article indicate that thyroid function disruption is a public health risk and we need to understand how it occurs.
